Essential Oils
Now we have our own essential oils! Harvested and distilled in early August, it has been gently maturing and is now bottled in two formats.

Rollerball Lavender 10ml - a handy size for the handbag and easy to apply to pulse points for soothing and relaxing sleep. Excellent for healing small burns, wounds and spots as lavender has a natural anti fungicidal effect. Also wonderfully soothing on insect bites and bee stings due to lavender's natural antihistamine properties.
The bottle contains pure essential oil from Lavender (Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso') grown in our fields in Shropshire. Many people prefer this as 'a proper lavender smell' - it has a higher camphor content in the oil and therefore has a strong refreshing smell.
(Although lavender is one of the safest essential oils, it is always advised to test on a small area first. Some people can find that they have an allergy to lavender)

Lavenders have very different fragrances. Not only are there subtle differences between varieties but also a marked difference between 'Intermedia' Lavender and 'Angustifolia' Lavender. Although the healing properties are similar, some people prefer the sweeter, softer fragrance of 'Angustifolia' Lavender.
We grow Lavender Angustifolia 'Mailette' which has a lovely floral sweet note.
We have very limited stock of 'Mailette' this year due to the severe drought here in Shropshire during the summer of 2011.
